We have all done puzzles in our lifetime. Those 4,000 piece puzzles are close to impossible!! I like the ones from McDonald's Happy Meals that have 6 pieces..
In the puzzle, every piece serves a purpose. You start the puzzle by finding all of the corner pieces first, then the pieces that are flat on one side so you can create the outline. Then you start working your way inward to complete the puzzle. If any pieces are missing, you just cannot complete the puzzle and usually break it up and discard it. Once completed however, you might glue it together and display it on your wall as a job well done.
Imagine if you did not have the box the pieces came in and just had to put the puzzle together without the picture of what it is supposed to look like fully assembled? This is what is going on here on earth.
We the children of God are the individual pieces of the puzzle who each have a purpose and a part to play in the overall picture God is creating. Only He knows what the puzzle is supposed to look like in the end and He is working to put it together one woman and one man at a time.
Proverbs tells us “Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.”
Like the corner pieces, there have been figures in history who have defined who we are to be. The many end pieces have set the limits of mankind and given us a standard to work towards.
We are the middle pieces filling in the rest of the puzzle. Each one of us is unique and a significant part of the overall picture. Without us the handiwork of God’s hands cannot be displayed. Unlike lost pieces in our puzzles, God will find every piece and insure it finds its place.
“For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God.” Romans 8
In my opinion, I believe the puzzle is almost finished and once completed, the Creator will share it with us and we will all understand the why’s and the how’s we yearn to understand. I can hear that collective “Oh” now from the billions of souls who have endured much here on earth.
Understand that you are a valuable piece of the puzzle and it cannot be completed without you. We all need to understand we need each other to come together and showcase the splendor of God’s greatest creation and know it will be displayed forever on the wall in Heaven.
