Is There a God?

Just recently an article was published about the vastness of space. In the article it was observed that the trillions of stars in our universe are much greater than the Bible depicts.

It continues with:

Over the last few decades, a new way of arguing for atheism has emerged. Philosophers of religion such as Michael Martin and Nicholas Everitt have asked us to consider the kind of universe we would expect the Christian God to have created, and compare it with the universe we actually live in. They argue there is a mismatch. Everitt focuses on how big the universe is, and argues this gives us reason to believe the God of classical Christianity doesn’t exist.

I would disagree and state in rebuttal that because of the vastness of space, there must be a God. When you look at the micro world of bacteria and cellular biology in our own bodies, then expand out to the vastness of space and the perfect alignment of the stars and the planets in our own solar system, it is difficult to believe that it all just developed by itself.

When people have a tough time believing in the existence of God, I refer them to two passages in the good book.

And the Lord said, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years. Genesis 6

And when he who has a discharge is cleansed of his discharge, then he shall count for himself seven days for his cleansing, wash his clothes, and bathe his body in running water; then he shall be clean. Leviticus 15

In the first one, God puts a limit on human life at 120 years. From my own research, I have only found one woman who lived past 120 to 123 and that is probably suspect. This passage in Genesis was written over 4,000 years ago. Even if it was written by the mind of man, how could it still be true today? Our futurists and medical professionals have been boasting about the one day when we will live to 150 and possibly beyond! Yet here we are in 2017 and it has not happened yet.

In the second passage, it was only in 1800’s that we finally started to practice some of the health suggestions from the Bible. In doing so, it set modern man on a path to a higher rate of mortality. Up until the 1800’s doctors used to handle people with unwashed hands spreading disease and infection among their patients. Those that did wash used a bowl with stagnant water that did not do much to stem the transfer of bacteria. Finally in the 1800’s scientists discovered the world of microorganisms and instructed doctors to use running water instead when dealing with patients. Imagine the number of people who would had survived had they just listened to the advice of the Book of Leviticus.

Evolution has not done a very good job of propagating the human species. It is only when we take the suggestions and teachings of the Bible that we move forward in our own development as higher organisms. The Bible has been a treasure trove of life giving advice on relationships, health and the understanding of why we are here.

Men did not write this book. Only something supernatural could have spoken to the minds of men to place onto something more lasting than the hearts and souls of men. This everlasting writings have stood the test of time and destruction and is still the best selling and most distributed book with an estimated 5 billion being printed since 1815.

This supernatural author explains His hope for you in the book of Jeremiah.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29

Is there a God? Yes and He loves you and wants you to know Him. He makes himself available 24/7. Take some time today to start down that path instead of the one that leads to disappointment and death.

And that is the Whole Truth God Bless

And remember God always answers His kneemail.
