Earth's Real Avenger

The Avengers movie came out last weekend and broke all kinds of Box Office records. In it, the Avengers (Thor, Iron Man, Hulk), battle Thanos who has come to eliminate half of life in the Universe.

In reality there is a creature who, for 6,000 years, has been trying to destroy mankind. His name is Lucifer and his plan, while not successful, has been very destructive. Many lives have been lost due to the havoc he has wreaked on this little planet.

However, just like the movie, Earth does have an Avenger in Jesus who gave his life so we could live. He claimed He would return to avenge mankind and destroy Lucifer.

In Matthew 26

Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

In Acts 10 it states

God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

In 1 John 3

He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.

Jesus will destroy the works of the devil and avenge mankind. He is our true Avenger and one who cannot die!

Rev 22

He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.” Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!
