A Day Off for Remembrance
It is that time of year again when everyone gets a day off on Monday. It is Memorial Day when we remember those who gave their lives so we could enjoy freedom. Freedom is not free and the cost is very high. While it is only once a year, we should think about it more often. The good book compels us to take a day off every week and remember Him who gave His life so that we could enjoy freedom from sin and death. Like our military brothers and sisters, Jesus died in the battle of Good vs Evil. It is so important to our well being that God included it in the 10 commandments. We all need a day off every week to recharge our soul and our body from the demands and challenges of the previous six days. It is also a good time to reflect on our gifts from the Father from the previous week and take stock of how blessed we really are.
More and more physicians and psychologists are getting behind the idea of a weekly day off to benefit our bodies and minds and how beneficial it is for our overall health. A time to put down the Smartphone, spend time with family, enjoy nature and get some much needed rest.
So this weekend, remember to thank a veteran or visit a cemetery of fallen heroes. Pledge to to take more time each week with the One who provided those men and women as well as His Son to die in our place so that we could live free.
Thats the Whole Truth, God Bless
and remember
God always answers His kneemail.
