God still answers prayer

This week a Category 5 storm named Florence formed off of the East Coast of the United States. Forecasters and government officials called it the "the storm of a lifetime". They recommended a complete evacuation of the North Carolina and South Carolina coast. It was quite a sight seeing the pictures and video of cars using both sides of the freeway to drive away from the coast.

I know many prayed for the people of these states. I personally prayed for the storm to reduce in intensity as it approached the populated areas of North and South Carolina. When Florence made landfall yesterday, it was a Category 1 storm down from a Category 5! Yes Virginia, God still answers prayer.

It was also reported that North and South Korea were building a Liaison Office on the tense border to better coordinate activities between the two long time enemies. Don't you know there were millions praying for this to occur and are actually probably surprised to see this in their lifetime. God still answers prayer.

This past Saturday a 10 year old boy was impaled on a foot long meat skewer when he fell out of his treehouse. This injury is rarely survivable. The doctors stated that the skewer just missed hitting critical blood vessels, including the carotid artery and the vertebral artery. "If this was a millimeter closer [to those vessels], it probably would have been an unsurvivable injury," You know hundreds were and are still praying for him. He has survived this horrific injury and a day after the surgery to remove it was sitting up in bed playing Xbox. God still answers prayer.

So there you have it. A week of answered prayer by God Almighty. The common denominator was that these prayers were for others and not ourselves. This is the secret to answered prayer.
