The world is a lonely place. Even with over 7 billion people living within it, many still feel alone. A survey done by Cigna in May of 2018 found that almost 50% of the respondents reported always or at least sometimes feeling alone. Expand that to the entire population and it means that almost 3.5 billion of us feel alone.
I believe loneliness is one of the enemy's best weapons in the destruction of mankind. Loneliness leads to despair and depression. Depression leads to substance abuse and suicide. Destruction indeed but it need not be that way. While your fellow man may have left you alone, God has not. In the book of Hebrews, Paul reminds us of the text in Dueteronomy:
"Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." Hebrews 13
Jesus spoke of the Father and how He is never alone. In the book of John:
And He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do those things that please Him.” John 8
Indeed the hour is coming, yes, has now come, that you will be scattered, each to his own, and will leave Me alone. And yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me. John 16
God loves us and as proof of this love sent His Son to die for us so that we may always be with Him. Even on this plane of existence He is with us. Never doubt that even when the times are tough. We should look heavenward, praise His Holy name for what He has done for us and give thanks for all we have. This is our purpose and best weapon to overcome anything.
You are not alone. God is with you in all you do. Never forget that.
