Would you like a guarantee on getting your prayers answered? Well keep reading and I will show you what the scripture says.
God compels us to be perfect like Him. See Matthew 5. Perfect is a tall order when scripture also reveals in Romans "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God". So what is a person to do in order to have their prayers answered?
Throughout the Bible, God instructs us to be righteous. The word righteous shows up in scripture 558 TIMES! That would seem to be a central theme if that topic shows up in a book that many times. Most of it appears in the old Testament but plenty shows up in the New.In fact, the determining factor in who gets eternal life is determined by righteousness Matthew 25 "And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."
God also cares for the righteous
Psalm 37
A little that a righteous man has Is better than the riches of many wicked. 17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken, But the Lord upholds the righteous.
The secret to answered prayer is having a righteous man pray for you.
James 5:16
The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
So who is righteous?
James goes on to write in verse 18
Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.
So the peace makers are righteous men. But then:
Romans 3:10
As it is written: “There is none righteous, no, not one
None according to Romans 3. So again what is a person to do. I am here to tell you there was a Righteous Man who walked this earth and He does have the ear of the Father. His name was Jesus and He came to lead the way back to righteousness. Paul writes in Romans:
who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.Romans 8:34
Jesus is the righteous man and his prayers availeth MUCH!
Send your prayers to Jesus, walk in peace with all men (and women) and sow righteousness wherever you go. THEN your prayers will be answered in accordance with God's will for your life and relationship with Him.
