Encourage One
Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, Thessalonians 5
We live in a world that just wants to tear everyone down. Between Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, the comments people post are really just deplorable. This really is nothing new. It has been going on for centuries. It was even going on back in Paul's day and it was he who spoke these words to the people of his time.
In the Bible the word encourage is listed 54 times in the NIV. Another word used in the KJV is edify but it has the same meaning. Encouragement has been a topic of discussion for quite some time.
Plants and animals prosper from what they receive. They grow based on the amount of sunlight, food and water they receive. It is a scientific fact that they do much better when you talk to them because you expel carbon dioxide which they use as food.
People are no different in that they prosper or wither from what they receive in the way of words from others. Not from the carbon dioxide we expel but the tone and content of the words we send their way. Whether it is by the written word or the spoken one, mankind responds to the words of others. How good do you feel when someone compliments you and tells you how great you are?
You can cultivate your own garden of blossoming friendships merely by the way you speak to them. Your words of encouragement are food for the soul and it helps them tackle whatever challenge they are dealing with. Those who post hateful speech will either find themselves surrounded by like minded individuals or they will be alone. What a terrible way to live this one precious life we are given.
We can grow our circle of friends just by speaking it into existence. Paul admonishes us to encourage one another and build each other up, not tear anyone down. Not even our enemies. Moses was commanded to encourage Joshua and look what came of that, the Promised Land.
Pray for one another, edify and encourage and become the beacon of God's light we are all destined to become.
And that is the Whole Truth!
Have a wonderful rest of the week and may God bless you in your ongoing walk with Him.
And remember,
God always answers His kneemail.
