Tornadoes have been tearing up huge swaths of the United States this week, leaving death and devastation in their wake. On Monday alone, about 55 tornadoes touched down, and at least 27 tornadoes were reported Tuesday. That made Tuesday the 12th consecutive day with at least eight reported tornadoes, beating the record set in 1980. The Washington Post reported Wednesday that 225 tornadoes have been confirmed since May 17. Vox May 30,2019
The media likes to hype up the news. While there have been a few deaths from these tornadoes, the numbers are actually very low. In reality, it has been less than 10 people killed. 225 tornadoes so far and less than 10 people killed! You know there are supernatural forces at work when this occurs.
This should only strengthen our faith that God is at work in our lives and is trying to protect us from the storms of devastation. The enemy is out to destroy us and will unleash all he can to accomplish this. While we may lose possessions and property, God works to salvage our very lives from his destructive nature.
Our faith in God through His Son Jesus is all we need to deal with these storms and while there may be loss, it will be minimal. Our very lives depend on God and He will not let us down. Scripture reminds us in Psalms 5:
But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You; Let them ever shout for joy, because You protect them; Let those also who love Your name Be joyful in You.
Let us remember who protects us from the storm. Keep your faith in Him during the storm and He will deliver you just like He did to the people of the Midwest. this past month.
