Fall to Spring

The leaves have begun to "Fall" from the trees. The hints of the cold of Winter are in the air. The season is changing and we can do nothing about it. All we can do is prepare the best we can and look forward to the Spring that will most assuredly arrive.

God has blessed us with seasons not only to teach us about crop planting and harvest, but also to remind us of the future to come. As we enter Fall, we observe the changes in the trees, the change in the temperature and the shorter days of sunlight.

With Fall comes Winter and the bitterness of cold and the lack of color in our meadows and gardens. The image of fresh snow is nice but not to those who have to go out in it to earn their daily bread.

Come Spring and the cold subsides, the days get longer and all around us nature blossoms with color. So it is with the days of our lives. We yearn for Spring just as we yearn for our God to return. He has promised He will but the Book of Revelations depicts a world of Fall and Winter that will be devastating to many.

Many will Fall from the truth and be cast aside. Many will Fall by the sword and perish. Many will die like the trees and bushes of nature in Fall and Winter but be reborn in the Spring of His coming. God is in control of all of this just as He is in charge of the seasons. He will deliver His children in their due time, we just have to be patient.

Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain. James 5

Just like the crops of the earth, we must wait out the season until we receive the latter rain. With Fall and Winter come Spring. It has done so for thousands of years. We are being prepared for His coming and must endure the change in seasons. With them will come rebirth.

Be patient We look forward to the Spring. I do not believe it is coincidence that we celebrate Jesus resurrection in the Spring. Come Lord Jesus and warm our hearts from the cold of Fall and Winter and bring forth the bounty of harvest and color in your children.
