I received a new drone from my son on my Birthday. This will help with my videos and images I gather for some of the organizations I am involved with. It is a pretty complex device with a lot of bells and whistles. Like most people, I tend to toss the manual after opening the gift and just figure it out on my own. For this particular gift, I think I need to read the manual.
We have all been given a miraculous gift from our Father in Heaven. This particular gift allows us to navigate this world and experience all it has to offer. A nose to smell the flowers, eyes to see the beautiful sunsets, ears to hear sweet music and a mouth to taste some amazing flavors.
We were not born with a manual and our parents, God love them, had to figure it out those first few years. God in His love for us did provide a manual for us to refer to when we faced certain challenges. Within the pages of Scripture, Jesus has written the history of mankind as well as how to navigate this world and the relationships that come with it. The book of Proverbs alone is a treasure trove of how to live life successfully.
Sadly, many have tossed the manual and prefer to figure it out on their own. This method leads to anxiety, depression, failure and even suicide. Why go that route when the most readily available book on the planet helps us avoid all of that pain and suffering.
Unlike my drone, I cannot replace this gift God gave me and I only get one shot at it. So, I need to make the best I can with what I have. We all have our own little gift to share with the world and in the pages of the Bible, Jesus instructs us on how to nurture it and make it grow within us. It all starts in Genesis 1:1.
Four chapters a day and you will complete in one year and your entire life will change I guarantee it! Take some time in 2020 and read the manual Jesus gifted us so many years ago. Don't toss it to the side like so many do and try to figure it out on your own. No matter what the Dow forecasts this year, I promise this effort will be the best investment you make in 2020.
