Every year around this time, we are to gather roses and chocolate to reaffirm our love for one another. Valentines Day is a multi billion dollar extravaganza for merchants and florists.
Those of us lucky enough to have a significant other should take time to share with them our gratitude and love we have for them. This action should take place more than once a year. The day of rest is a perfect time to reconnect once a week and remind one another the reason that they got together in the first place.
"Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh." Genesis 2:24
One flesh meaning we cannot survive without the other. This is how God originally designed us. After all, woman was made from man's rib..Therefore let us be joined in Holy matrimony as God has ordained the union of man and woman since the dawn of time.
Men and women are equal in the eyes of the Lord. Just like the right hand is no better than the left, man is no better than woman. The two are beautifully interwoven together to be one. They act as one to raise children and one to build a life of prosperity and charity. As they say, behind every great man is a loving wife. This is most certainly true.
Scripture goes on to say - "Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies. The heart of her husband safely trusts her; So he will have no lack of gain. She does him good and not evil All the days of her life." Proverbs 31:10
Love yourself through your wife - "So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself." Ephesians 5
Even though God has not ordained Valentines Day as a holiday, He does support the reaffirmation and dedication of love and respect between a man and woman. Honor Him this day in your love for one another and recommit your relationship to Him who made it possible for the two of you to come together in the first place.
To my wife, I say I love you with all my heart and thank God for our life together.
May God Bless all of the married (and soon to be married) couples this day.
And that is the Whole Truth!
Have a wonderful rest of the week and may God bless you in your ongoing walk with Him.
And remember,
God always answers His kneemail.
