Jesus Prayer

"Our Father who art in Heaven"

Jesus spoke these words first during His ministry on this Earth. He taught the disciples to pray and now over 2 billion people on the planet know this. Jesus taught that He was from the Father and the Father was within Him. It was the Father who gave Him the ability to rise from the dead and it was Him who made it possible for all of His astonishing works.

Jesus loved the Father and the Father loved Him. We too can gain access to the Father. In the book of John:

Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. John 14:23

Jesus made mention of the Father over 160 times in the four gospels. It was the Father who gave good gifts. It was the Father who knew about every sparrow. It IS the Father who has been abiding with us since the days of Eden to fulfill His plan.

But Jesus answered them, “My Father has been working until now, and I have been working.” John 5:17

In truth, we only have one Father, our Father who art in Heaven. He is the true Creator and He commissioned his Son to be born into this sin filled world and die as a sacrifice to the Father as an atonement for our inability to be more like Him.

When all is said and done, EVERYONE will understand the breadths and depths the Father has gone through to bring us back into communion with Him. It will truly be mind blowing for Christians, Jews and Gentiles alike to finally see for ourselves the love the Father has for us. We are His sons and daughters and like Jesus, we are heirs to the kingdom He has set out for us from the beginning.

We don't have to wait until Jesus coming to honor our Father. In the book of Matthew, Jesus told us what to do:

But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. Mathew 6:6

This weekend is Fathers Day. Our world today is racked with the Coronavirus pandemic, unrest and riots over racial tensions, rumors of wars in India and China and higher unemployment numbers. So what is there to be grateful for? If you have a roof over your head, breath in your lungs, food in your belly and access to God's Word, then you are richly blessed. Many do not have these things and these are gifts from the Father.

Let us go into our room and shut the door and pray secretly to the Father and thank Him for all we have. Let us honor Him who has been hard at work on our behalf to prepare the Kingdom. Thy Kingdom come.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be they Holy Name!

And that is the Whole Truth!

May God truly bless you in your walk with Him.

And remember, God always answers His kneemail.
