A Life Built on a Rock

Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. Matthew 7:24

Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does. James 1:21

It is one thing to read and hear the Word of God. It is another to put them into action. So many Christians are great at reading and understanding the Bible. However, when it comes to putting into practice, they leave that to another.

In order to really weather the storms of this world, we need to cling to these passages for our very life. We need to keep them in the forefront of our minds and put them into practice every day. Practice makes perfect and you know God wants us to be perfect.

The law of liberty is not Legalism. The law of liberty is loving your neighbor and God as yourself. It is actually very simple. Don't murder, don't steal, don't lie, love the Lord your God with your whole heart. The Ten Commandments are not burdensome but actually quite easy to follow. Doing so will establish your faith on a rock. One that can weather any storm that the principalities of this world throw at us.

No one ever said life was easy but it is overcome able and victory is possible but only with God as our Rock and Savior.

Psalm 18:2

The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

Stand on the Rock, proclaim His Word and live a life of purpose and meaning with God as your foundation. Only then can we hope to be victorious and found to be good and faithful servants of Him who gave His life for us so many years ago. Go forth and conquer in meekness and love.

And that is the Whole Truth!

May God truly bless you in your walk with Him.

And remember, God always answers His kneemail.
